Today, the builders carried on with the plan to dig out the footings on Plot Two despite the wet site. It's now a big, muddy mess with very deep trenches - 2.5 metres on one side where the conifers are and not so deep on the other side, which will be finished off in the morning. Sheldon, the builder, asked me to give Dave a big warning as it is so slippy even though it might save on concrete bills to find him in the trench in the morning! They are hopefully being signed off tomorrow so that the concrete can be poured.
All the services are now ordered for the bargain cost of £20k! This does include electricity, gas and water for two houses and there is up to a 12 week waiting time so we needed to do it asap. The trenches for these services will be dug next to the hardcore drive with the relevant pipes ready for the services to be put in place next week.
Just when I thought our mortgage stress was over, it turns out today that we might have to get conveyancing searches. I am hoping not as it's just a very big piece of mud that used to be our garden. I have yet to hear back but this could add a further wait time until our first stage is released - and lots more chasing up from me. Well I was wondering what to do with my time now......
