Yesterday saw the concrete lorries arrive for Mum and Dad's footings. They are now all in place and drying out.
I did think that the site would be empty today as the builders had told me that they were going to finish work at our friend's house. However, at 7.30am, I could hear bleeping and it was an EH Smith lorry containing lots of black crates.
They were buried by the digger in the garden and used as a soak away for drainage. The bases of both plots are now covered in grey mill waste stone ready for the next stage. There will be no more work now until next week so no posts for a few days.
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteWe are from Australia and met your folks while on our 20 month narrowboat adventure. We had the most hilarious night out with them.
We will follow your build blog with interest as we are building a little house ourselves at the moment. Yours will probably go a bit quicker than ours as Mick, my husband, is doing pretty much all the work himself. We have ours at lock up stage now. I post the odd blog entry about it (ellyandmick.blogspot.com). Do put up your floor plans so we can see what each of you are building.
Enjoy the process!

Hi - Lovely to hear from you and thanks for leaving a comment. It's a great idea to upload the plans so I have done it for our house as a new post. I need to check with Mum and Dad and if they don't mind, I'll do a new post for theirs as well. Your house looks great on the blog - it looks very big! And what a view!
