Week 30 - Decorator arrives at Mum and Dad's house!

Wow - this weekend Mum and Dad's house got some paint on the walls!  It looks amazing.  Take a look ...

Week 30 - Starting to look more like a home!

It's Easter Weekend and things are really starting to move on with our new home.

The bifold doors are in - just waiting on the front door and the windows above it now - they should be in by the end of next week.

The roof is finished at the front - and the solar panels have been installed on the back.  The roof on the back shouldn't take too much longer.

Dave has sanded and varnished the lintel above the fireplace in the lounge.

The backplates for the toilets are now in situ in the upstairs bathrooms, along with the shower trays.

And perhaps, most exciting, we have plasterboard and some plastering completed in some of the rooms upstairs.  It makes the size of the rooms much more apparent.

Tomorrow, we are heading into Leicester to look at blinds and curtains.  Starting to become even more of a reality!

Week 28 - Update Mum and Dad's house

Mum and Dad are quite a bit ahead of us now as their roof was finished about three weeks ago so the plasterers could start.  

The plasterer will be finished in their house this week and is moving onto ours afterwards.

The underfloor heating is now down with the screed on top.  

John, the decorator, starts next weekend and the floor tiles are arriving so that they can be fixed in place.  All moving very fast...

Week 28 - Upstairs windows in, garage floor concrete in and bathroom tiles arrive

This week hopefully sees the roof being finished - with the solar panel going on the week after that - and the plasterers starting.   It's starting to look a little more like our new home.
